It is with great satisfaction that we present the second issue of the Revista de Investigación, Ciencia, Estudios y Saberes (RICES)—a scholarly project that continues to establish itself as a platform for the dissemination of scientific knowledge in the social and human sciences.

Following the publication of our inaugural issue—which marked the genesis of this initiative—we reaffirm our commitment to actively contribute to the strengthening of the academic and scientific ecosystem in Colombia and Latin America.

RICES is not only dedicated to publishing rigorous research findings but also aims to foster broader interaction between the core functions of the university and the actors of the quadruple helix model: academia, industry, government, and civil society. This effort to link knowledge with social transformation represents both a significant challenge and a valuable opportunity within our regional context.

In this second issue, we broaden our editorial scope to include new voices and interdisciplinary approaches that reflect the complexity of today’s social and human phenomena. We understand that knowledge can no longer be confined to isolated fields; for that reason, we promote dialogue across disciplines such as economics, politics, education, security, defense, and other social and human sciences.

RICES remains an open platform for critical thinking and academic debate, where both emerging and established researchers can share their findings and insights. Our goal is to support the development of academic careers by providing greater visibility to high-quality research articles, published in both Spanish and English, with relevance at local and international levels.

All of this is guided by strict bioethical principles and a firm commitment to scientific excellence. We extend our sincere gratitude to our authors, reviewers, and readers for their trust in this editorial project—one that is just beginning but is already carving out a clear path in the landscape of academic publications in the social and human sciences.
